Noting a lack of information on the theremin in French, Coralie Ehinger created etheremin.com, a French-language platform dedicated to the instrument, in order to encourage the emergence of a French-speaking theremin community.

 

Constantly updated, Etheremin has become a point of reference for theremin enthusiasts, both amateur and professional.

An Introduction to the Theremin is designed for any person wishing to learn how to play the theremin. In a little over 40 pages it deals simply and playfully with everything a beginner would want to know in order to begin learning smoothly: a short history, how it works, settings and adjustments, basic techniques and some tricks, etc.

 

This book is the first of its kind in French, co-authored by the Franco-Swiss theremin duo Jimmy Virani and Coralie Ehinger, with the participation of “theremengineer” Thierry Frenkel for the technical aspects.

 

The first edition sold out only a year after its publication, prompting its authors to publish a 2nd revised edition in 2014. It has been translated into Japanese in 2012 (sold out), and into English in January 2014.
